What’s included in the package?
In the box you will get a solar panel, rail mount, and MC4 cables to connect. Solar charge controller and batteries are not included.
Can the panel remain mounted securely while sailing?
Yes, the clamps grip the rail tube to hold the panel securely while sailing. You can also use the additional buckle straps to fasten the panel for added security.
Do I need to drill holes on the boat to fix the panels?
No, you don't need to drill holes anywhere on your boat. The Rail Mount attaches securely to the boat's rail tube with clamps.
Can I attach the Rail Mount to both tubes and cables?
The Rail Mount is designed to work only with rigid railing tubes. The diameter of the boat's rail tubes must range from 25 mm to 32 mm (or 1 in to 1, 1/8 in): we do not recommend using the product otherwise. A continuous straight section of the rail tube is required: minimum 120 cm (or 47 in) for CarbonCore 110W panel and minimum 62 cm (25 in) and for CarbonCore 55W panel.
Does the Rail Mount work with other solar panels?
No, the Rail Mount is compatible only with the CarbonCore solar panels. We do not recommend switching the solar panels.
Can I detach the panel from the Rail Mount and use it as a portable panel?
Yes, you can simply unscrew the Rail Mount from the panel and use it as a lightweight portable solar panel. CarbonCore panels are semi-rigid and have been designed for portability. Just remember to keep the nuts and bolts in a safe location after disassembling since spares will not be included in the order.
Can I electrically connect multiple solar panels together?
You can put as many CarbonCore 110W and 55W solar panels together as you want (as long as your charge controller/inverter supports the total voltage and current of the combined setup).
Are batteries included?
No, batteries are not included. However you can purchase them separately on our website.
Is the panel waterproof?
Yes, the panel is waterproof.
Is the Rail Mount resistant to salt water corrosion?
Yes, the parts are made from marine-grade high-quality materials like 316 stainless steel and 600 series aluminium that have a long shelf-life in marine environments.
How do I install the solar panel? Do I need assistance?
You can install the panels easily without any technical assistance, just follow the User Manual provided with the panels.
Where can I install the solar panel?
You can install it on your boat or use it as a portable panel when needed.
How long do solar panels last?
Solar panels typically have a performance warranty of 25 years. The loss of performance is typically 1% per year. After five years, panels should still output at least 95% of the rated power, after 10 years they should output 90%, and after 25 years 80%.
Can I step on the panels?
We highly recommend not stepping on the panels as it may damage the solar cells.
